Helpful Information
Deodorize cat filler. Mix one-and-a-half cups 20 Mule Team Borax to every
five pounds of cat filler to reduce and control odor in the cat box.
Neutralize pet urine and sour spilled milk odors. Dampen the spot, rub in
20 Mule Team Borax, let dry, then vacuum or brush clean.
Eliminate animal urine stains from carpet. Blot up urine, flush several
times with lukewarm water, then apply a mixture of equal parts Heinz White
Vinegar and cool water. Blot up, rinse, and let dry.
Repel mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce when outdoors during mosquito
season.
Keep dogs, maggots, and flies out of trash cans. Coat the trash cans with
a thin layer of WD-40.
Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will
magnetically attract all the loose hairs.
Refreshing the
cat tree. Shop vac all loose particles if needed, then use a slicker brush
and comb the carpet to pick up all the hair. Sprits with Air Freshener for
a clean look and smell.
Give your cat a dry shampoo. Rub Kingsford's Corn Starch into your cat's
fur, then comb and brush out.
Keep dogs and cats off furniture. Place pieces of Reynolds Wrap on the
furniture. The sound of rustling foil frightens pets.
Prevent cat hairballs. Add a teaspoon of Wesson Corn Oil to one cat meal
daily.
Treat ear mites in cats. Put a few drops of Wesson Corn Oil into your
cat's ear and massage. Then clean out all debris with a ball of cotton. Repeat
daily for three days, and the mites should be gone. The oil soothes the cat's
sensitive skin, smothers the mites, and promotes healing.
Cure Mange. While spraying a dog with WD-40 gets rid of parasitic mites,
according to USA Today, the WD-40 Company, feeling that the potential misuse of
the product is too great, refuses to condone using WD-40 to cure mange on
animals.
